Trees have always been so special in Irish Celtic mythology, the Birch and the Mistletoe being associated with this season in the Lunar Tree lore calendar. The inspiration behind this picture is the child’s innocent thrill of watching snow falling and is based on the wonderful walks available in Virginia, Cavan and Mullaghmeen forest in Westmeath in which an ancient cairn lies at the highest point.
