The Loughcrew cairns, Oldcastle Co. Meath are approximately 5,400 years old (Older than the pyramids of Egypt). Each Equinox the rising sun lights the passage which leads to a chamber, the rays hitting the highly decorated back stone. Perhaps those who built this feat of engineering still watch from the shadows as we pay homage to their extraordinary ancient knowledge.
